Global Green USA is best known for their huge efforts in tackling Global issues such as global warming, building green homes and schools, helping communities, and promoting green political leaders. In 1996, the first of many Millennium Awards were hosted at a private home in Bel Air to recognize all of those who work hard to embody the Global Green USA’s mission of “fostering a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure world.”
These prestigious awards were designed to honor both individuals and organizations that recognize and encourage the connection between humanity and our natural environment, and to celebrate their success.
With the goal of raising funds to support their Global and Nation efforts, the 17th Annual Millennium Awards took place on Saturday, June 8th at the historic and luxurious Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows nestled atop the bluffs in Santa Monica, California. This grand event featured a special musical performance by Concord recording artist Spencer Day, had 360 Vodka as an official event partner, but most importantly gave Los Angeles locals, the Hollywood community, and civic leaders a venue to raise global awareness of Smart Climate Solutions and bring all of the most pressing environmental and social issues to the forefront.
“While each award recipient provided great remarks and wonderful stories about her person journey,” remarked Matt Peterson, President and CEO of Global Green USA, “I have to say having Major-elect Eric Garcetti join us was the highlight [of this years event]”.
As for the 2014 Millennium Awards, Petersen is most excited in preparation for their 20th Anniversary. “Next year, we will be mid-way in our official 20th Anniversary celebration,” he added, “so it is sure to be a fun and fantastic evening to celebrate leadership and support Global Green.”
