My Tiny Nest has partnered with us in our giveaway to help create a Dream Room for a child. Take a look at what Alessia Corpino, one of the founders, said in her interview.
When Alessia Corpino and Julie Frank noticed a hole in the interior design market, they created My Tiny Nest. As an interior design firm specializing in creating unique playrooms, children’s rooms, and nurseries, they design with a passion to make beautiful dream spaces. With modern society in mind, they offer options in e-design, design-in-a-box, and as well as traditional interior design services.
When asked why they have teamed with us to assist in designing and creating a room for a little one, Alessia said, “Two of the things are close to our heart: your children’s health and a respect for the environment. We want to safeguard baby and children’s development while also protecting mother earth and the environment. We wanted to partner with Natural Child World as our values and theirs align in these respects.”
When it comes to being Green, My Tiny Nest chooses to use safe, and if requested eco-friendly, materials and furniture. Alessia says, “ We generally try to opt for natural elements, non-toxic plastics (i.e. BPA free) and paint, with products that are fair-trade or USA made and CPSIA certified to be lead-free. The other route is through reclaiming and recycling. We encourage our parents-to-be to incorporate items they already own into the schemes. Sometimes it’s just a matter of changing a few details like the handles or pulls or recovering a pillow, and of course, its always amazing what a fresh coat of paint in a new color will do to an old staple piece. We can revitalize a piece of furniture you’ve owned for many years into something new and unique.”
Being inspired and creative is vital as a designer, and according to Alessia, “Inspiration comes from many places; from parents-to-be visions, it can come from a vintage piece that parents want to keep of from the children themselves or just from getting to know our clients and something they will say or refer to will ignite our creativity and fuel the process.”
As My Tiny Nest continues designing, they are currently exploring future product development. To find more information on My Tiny Nest, visit them HERE.
