Food Network “Cupcake Wars” champion Chef Chloe Coscarelli among special guests at Farm Sanctuary’s Celebration for the Turkeys
LOS ANGELES – November 6, 2013 – Imagine a Thanksgiving table set with linens and heaping platters of holiday favorites like stuffed squash, salad, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. Suddenly, the guests of honor enter — a flock of very excited rescued turkeys who call Farm Sanctuary home. Welcome to the Celebration for the Turkeys!
This Saturday, November 9, Farm Sanctuary will host their annual Celebration for the Turkeys at their newest location just outside of Los Angeles, Farm Sanctuary’s Animal Acres (5200 Escondido Canyon Road) in Acton, Calif. from 1:30 – 6:00 p.m. At this delightfully unique event, turkeys are the guests of honor, rather than part of the menu. Watch guests and turkeys enjoy our past celebrations.
So what will be on the menu? A gourmet holiday feast of favorite traditional Thanksgiving dishes prepared with vegan ingredients; the opportunity to spend time getting to know the rescued animals who call Farm Sanctuary home; and the highlight of the event — the Feeding of the Turkeys ceremony (begins at 2:30 p.m. sharp), during which guests feed rescued turkeys their own holiday feast! Special presentations from former Cupcake Wars champion, vegan chef, and author Chloe Coscarelli, psychologist and author of Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows Melanie Joy, Ph.D., and Farm Sanctuary President and Co-Founder Gene Baur round out what is sure to be the most memorable event of the season.
