White House Delays 2017-2025 Fuel Economy Standards

Benign Delay?
By today, the DoT and EPA were supposed to have proposed a draft for the 2017-2025 Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) law that regulates fuel economy for vehicles sold in the US. But it’s not happening. Word on the street is that more time is needed to hammer out the details and that the draft should instead be released around November. Hopefully this doesn’t mean that the target of 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025 will be reduced or otherwise diminished….Read the full story on TreeHugger
